Mercury1 working with Hampshire County Council to evaluate local businesses’ use of technology

Stepping up technology support for Hampshire companies

On Monday 16th November Mercury1 and eHampshire will start working together on the county’s e-Ladder strategy to be launched early next year. The project is designed to assess the local businesses in their adoption and use of technology for improving efficiency and profit.

The initial aim is to provide an online self assessment tool for company owners to understand where they currently stand and set goals for 18 months in the future. Each business will be provided with a written report of their current state and what immediate steps they can take on any areas they have identified to work on. This data will also be collated at a higher level to help build a picture of the training needs for businesses across the county.

Once there is a broader understanding of the businesses in Hampshire and their attitude towards technology eHampshire, Mercury1 and other local technical businesses will provide white papers, workshops and services to meet specific needs identified to help Hampshire’s businesses meet their 18 month goals.

The School of Management at Royal Holloway University of London are also pledging their support of the venture and will help optimise the self assessment through their experience in assessing technology adoption within SMEs in the UK.

We believe that this is an exciting move from eHampshire who are embracing web technology to gather data so they can then provide tailored technical support & training to help Hampshire’s companies make the most of the technical age.
