Requirements

To build an auction website to allow users to upload their second hand kit for auction, swap or sale. Also featuring a wanted board for members to request items.

Summary

The site was a concept created by two ex-service men who had a really good idea and then came to Mercury1 to make it happen. Between the site owners and our designers we have created the new site and built it to suit the military market.

Customer benefits

The site is fully dynamic and allows users access to set up their own profiles and upload their own items, which reduces the need for Kit4x to have many staff managing the content. It also has some content filtering to help ensure that no inappropriate content is submitted.

More information

The site includes integration to an external payment provider: Protx using both direct payments (similar to ecommerce sites) and regular repeat payment automatically.

Members can receive their monthly bill in an invoice sent via email automatically at the beginning of each month. Another administration feature that saves Kit4x the overhead.

There is a wealth of funky features implemented in this application, including automagic image compression and re-sizing on upload which saves users time and protects large images from being viewed on the website and making it slow.
